Applying for Financial Aid

Students applying for financial aid need to meet the deadlines found on 2008-2009 Deadlines page.

If you’ve never applied for financial aid before and would like an idea of what to expect, visit the Federal Student Aid’s FAFSA4caster.  The FAFSA4caster will provide you with an opportunity to learn more about the process and the various financial aid programs available to you.

Regular undergraduate and graduate students wanting to apply for federal, state, and institutional funds must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This application can be completed at the FAFSA on the Web site. The FAFSA can be completed entirely online by obtaining a Personal Identification Number (PIN) from the Federal Student Aid’s PIN Web site.

The information on the FAFSA is used to establish financial aid eligibility for the various financial aid programs offered at UTD. There is no separate institutional financial aid application to complete.

You will need UTD's School Code, 009741, for us to receive your application data. You must re-apply for financial aid each academic year by completing a FAFSA.

If you do not meet federal eligibility requirements, but have been classified as a Texas resident and are therefore eligible to pay the Texas in-state tuition rate, you must complete a paper FAFSA or a TASFA.  This must be submitted directly to the Financial Aid Office with a Verification Form and income tax documentation, if applicable. 

Students in Executive Education Programs, Executive MBA, GLEMBA, Project Management, and other similar Executive Education Programs may want to consider financing their educational program through the alternative loan programs as well.
